If the air conditioning unit is not cooling, check your filters. If they are stopped up, replace them. If you do not have any extras, take the ones you have outside, sweep the dust off with a broom and replace them. If the unit cannot get enough air, it tends to freeze up. If you see ice build up on the inside/outside units, set the cooling system to OFF and the fan setting (auto/on) to ON. This will allow the unit to melt the ice build-up (it takes at least two hours for the ice to melt on the coil). Change, or clean, your air filters every three weeks or sooner if they are clogged.
Remember that a ground fault interrupter (see right) protects the outlets in the bathrooms and it trips the outlets when an overload occurs. This type of outlet, if not in the bathroom itself, is located in the garage and must be reset by pushing the little button in the center of the outlet that is sticking out in order for the bath outlets to work again (often colored red).A similar outlet is located on the wall closest to the kitchen sink. Familiarize yourself with this outlet so that you know what it looks like.
Let us know if it is a disposer that is clogged, tub drain/lavatory drain, a toilet that runs, a broken flush arm, or if the toilet is stopped up. If we know in advance, the service man will have the parts needed and the problem will be solved in one trip.
